this is just the expected kind of punishment for treasonous fools. any Emperor would have chosen the same punishment, being too merciful makes you look like a weak leader. FL's should stop being depicted as these Pure Virgin types who couldn't hurt a fly and aren't the least bit selfish, while the male leads get to be more complex characters. I'm sick of all of these Mc's that are Mary Sues.
