I’m not sure if he’s a bad father. It seems like he’s either lost his memory or smth cause he genuinely did not know or remember her :/ and it seems like he cares a lot for her and puts consideration into how she’s feeling. He also seems like he cares for his other children as well so I don’t necessarily think he’s a bad father.
I guess you didn't read the manga at all cause you didn't understood a thing.
The child's mother belongs to a tribe that gets forgotten if they die and die of they're forgotten...
Here, the mother didn't die because she was forgotten. She died because she gave birth to a child whose father did not belong to the tribe. She died and hence, she was forgotten according to the rules of the tribe.
No one can be blamed here.
