maybe im the one interpreting it wrong but nothing really indicating that he crossdressed seeking to be forgiven. Maybe after the fact, and his self harm was for redemption( but how?), I see it as more of a last ditch attempt for her sympathy + attention

I mean, he was even happy that her phobia worsening meant she still remembered him. And not once (yet) has it suggested him feeling remorseful at all for what he’s done. Cross dressing was the only means to get close to her.
