oooh i like your theory!! I'm theorizing that maybe the blue guy met estrella after she was born and took care of her but had to go when it wasn't winter. (??!?)
i think the blue guy is either a spirit who found estrella when her mom vanished(?) or died(?) or he might be a guardian of the Aehri clan? ლ(´ڡ`ლ)

If her mother is part of the Aehri clan and they only die once they are forgotten, then it means that somebody has never forgotten the existence of estrella. It may probably be the midwife and the question is why have he/she not say anything to the royal family??
