Forced to work at 8. The money for his education was used for gambling and accessoires. He has been starved many times even before he was 8 (he said he was fed properly since he works). They sold his sister to who knows who so that she can become canon fodder (but she was lucky, but he could not know that for a while). I dunno how she can act like a semi-damsel when she is descibed as a war hero that surpassed everyone. No matter how much you hate yourself for killing during a war, you cannot be that innocent and lenient anymore, when you face injustice. Especially towards your only family, that you were forced to abandon and thus carry a huge sense of guilt for apart from your love for them. This makes no sense to me. I don't like her super chill, weirdly airheadedness, apart from some mini cool moments. She does not need to go overboard, but those two should face harsher treatment. Like having to pay back a portion of what they stole from her brothers school funds and food money to her brother until it all evens out. So he can have the money that was meant for him and do what he wants with it finally. She hates war and blood and cruelty, but a person that carries so much baggage, that they decline all sorts of "gifts" for a feed they are not proud of, should be furios that the "blood money" they earned from war and send to their brother to at least do some good with it was used for materialistic reasons from the people meant to be the guardian of said brother.
This makes no sense. I can feel this "flattness", you get from a story that has a good "idea", but a bad "execution".
Like I said, no need to become some weird bloody revenge queen like in those chinese manga, but she can at least be more mature and calculating. Someone who does not have these traits should not be admired and described in the way all those male leads do.
Basically, I feel a bit dissappointed, because the art is freaking amazing. ლ(´ڡ`ლ)
...I would destroy everyone that does this to my sibling. If it is about me, I can handle it. But if anyone hurts my sibling - no matter how my relationship to her is - I will make them regret their whole existence.

I feel hopeful thanks to the comments, that after the chapter where they meet for the first time, she will revenge him.
