Where should she have been? She was told her child is dead. If I remember correctly, rotetshuu (her owner and the father of her lover) said he killed the child. She just discovered recently that it might still be alive. Who knows what she would have chosen if the child was by her side. As a mother I get her in that situation. I probably would also have fled a place, where one cannot even say goodbye to ones own child.
