I dont hate her but I dont like her and I can guess people bash Isabelle because of her incessitent need to follow him. It makes sense ewhy she would do it, but its also a bit irritating because she literally is, for now, just baggage that he has to take care of and help until she can get stronger and that he can't even leave behind in peace because it follows him. Even then people, like me, are probably worried that she will just be that love interest who never actually ends up doing much, which will make her place besides him feel undeserved. Mostly my speculation and feelings but yeah.

She follows him because she sees him as a strong person she can learn a lot of things from, if he didn't want her to follow him I'm sure he would've left her behind but he sees potential and where she can grow. Yall see her as 'baggage' because the MC is freaking op. I bet if she was also op from the get go no one would have a problem with her being a love interest. But people keep forgetting that they in a time where learning magic isn't as high as it was back in the MC's time. This is just the beginning for her, as the story goes on we'll see whether or not she has grown as a person. If everyone's gonna criticize someone think logically and take yall 'feelings' out of it. If deeper in the story there is no growth for her I'm still not gonna bash her because at the end of the day, that's how the author portrayed her to be.

Ehm, im not exactly taking a stance against her, and as I said she can be seen as baggage. Tbh, the mc isn't at his peak yet and as AbatedStrawberry said she didn't bother with him either until now. No ones discrediting her desire to learn and grow, but her following him feels disingenuous to me, because we get to know her as someone's who's pretty strong for the current times, has stated she wouldve married mc (his past self) if he was alive because he's strong with magic, and now she knows its him and follows him wherever he goes and leaves him with no say in the matter.
He's never invited her to go with him on this journey, he's never told her he wants to teach her. He acknowledges her abilities, but as you can see, he looks to blonde guy (i already forgot his name lmao) and is willing to involve him but hasn't even once personally included her in their conversation or talked to her about it. She's been listening in on his conversations out of her own volition. He didn't even tell her he was the past him from thousands of years ago because he wanted her to know, he was simply being straightforward and, emphasis on I, i think he had no other excuse at the time.
All I'm saying is you can like or dislike her. It depends on your interpretation of her character and her choices. Not one part of her character seems too forced or unrealistic, but I'm just gonna say not a everyone will like a person like her.
I'm wondering why people be bashing isabelle, I actually really like her. She's not overbearing like a lot of these females in these types of stories. If Frey didn't see any potential in her he would've kicked her to the curb already. I think there's gonna be a lot more to her as the story develops and goes deeper so I'm looking forward to her growth once she finds a definite goal in life. A lot of people still don't know what they want to do in life so imma give her time.
