I think what he was trying to say is that he overthought his friend’s reactions.
Just because theyre friends doesnt mean he has to tell him who hes dating or whatever.
Ryu Han isn’t controlling at least not to an extent where it can be considered ‘toxic’. Sang Hwa misinterpreted his actions because he expected Ryu Han to treat him as a lover, not a friend. So as a ‘lover’ he felt neglected but Ryu Han was doing all he could as a busy FRIEND.
He didnt go about it in a shitty way. His friend suddenly met up with someone who looks dangerous ( sometimes good people get blackmailed by gangsters ) and Sang Hwa refused to explain to him WHY. Someone who is always honest with him suddenly isnt being honest or explaining, so he thought Sang Hwa got himself in a dangerous situation and was trying his best to stop it in the only way he knew how to.
There are a lot of misunderstandings and if you actually read the chapter a lot of their actions start making sense.

I don't agree! I mean do you keep track of the people your best friend is with? All the things that Ryu han had done to MC, we saw it from MC's perspective. I think Ryu Han WAS(is) a good friend all along. And he ( RH) forcefully asking about Mirai hyung was because he thought Mirai is a gangster ( and he actually is). I mean I would also worried about my best friend if they were hanging out with shady people.

I mean, I don't keep track of who my best friend is with all the time. They have lives away from me and friends I don't know.
Yes, Ryu Han was worried, but it doesn't change the fact that he saw Sang Hwa and Lee Geum walking together and SH looked happy, was laughing and having a good time, and Ryu Han flipped out. Also, he never flat out asked SH if he was in trouble. He just jumped to conclusions, made demands, and was overall pretty rude. Also, judging someone solely based on their appearance is a pretty dick move, especially when you insult that person right to their face. Imagine how Lee Geum Hyung felt with Ryu Han constantly bad mouthing him and calling him thug.
Also, what kind of friend DEMANDS their best friend never see a certain person again? Ryu Han literally ordered SH to never see Lee Geum again. Even if I suspected my friend had fallen in with someone shady, I wouldn't start ordering them around and demanding they never see that person again (what right would I have to do that?). So I do think the behavior was toxic because if he really suspected his friend was in trouble, there are far better ways he could have gone about it. He could have privately told SH he was worried, he could have calmly explained why he was worried, etc. Instead he just flipped out. Seems a bit sus to me.
I don't think all of it was just Sang Hwa overthinking his relationship with Ryu Han. Even if he was expecting more from Ryu Han than friendship, Ryu Han did still exhibit some shitty behavior.
For example, never telling Sang Hwa about who he(RH) is with (but then expecting Sang Hwa to tell him everything about the people he(SH) is with), blowing him off, pushing him to the side. Just because someone has a girlfriend doesn't excuse neglecting your friends. Unrequited love or not, blowing off your friends just because you start dating is a dick move no matter what.
I still think Ryu Han is overly controlling. I get he was worried about Sang Hwa, but he went about it in the shittiest way.
