I'm sure they could be happy if Levi didn't keep having those nightmares. Don't you guys think it's like Eren killed lots of people in front of Levi in his Titan form, and now he knows how to control it and that's why he says 'past me' ?

Exactly (▰˘◡˘▰) Only I don't think "can't stand" being with him is right. I think it's more like Levi's enduring it for the sake of staying by Eren's side.

I actually thought it was the opposite.
They are reincarnated into a new life but in the old one Eren died in front of Levi. That's the hand holding scene that we get a glimpse at in a flashback before we get the truth at the very end of the story.
Levi blames himself (well his past self) for Eren dying. It's survivor's guilt at it's ugliest because Eren is alive and right by him but he is haunted by the past and the deep fear he will lose Eren again.

Yeah that’s why he always needed some reassurance after the nightmare. Like looking at Eren and making sure that he’s there and real. I also think they didn't get together in the past and I think Levi regretted not saying “I like you” so he whispers it everytime.
