im pretty sure alek was unaware of his feelings for hen and i think im. not sure but i think he thought he still liked ivan. this chapter was just him realizing his feelings for hen and wondering when he started liking him

oh no, he doesn’t like Ivan in romantic way if you read it back, he was mad that ivan can get everything so easily and he’s also mad that Ivan choose to leave him. But in hen’s case, Alek came to like him but it’s now too late
