Yup exactly, but I feel like this comic is too passive for her to get hurt so if its not the Duke who magically appears to stop the dad from smacking her it'll be the Butler or that other chick who works with her at the tea house. Either way I feel like someone is gunna grab his hand and prevent her from getting slapped

I have a feeling this is goin to be one of those instances where the Duke is magically there at the right time to catch the dads hand before he swings down to hit her, tends to always happen.
A real twist would be if he actually hit her and the Duke sees her red cheek or something and gets overly pissed, not saying I want her getting hurt or anything but it would be something different from what happens in almost every single story.
