The society is quite cruel.

Moreover, the both of them are in the entertainment world and probably during this era (in hanakoi) japan is still conservative as ever. It seems like the biggest reason the family members wanting them to break is due to societal pressures. Of course, the family members should not have done that. Marriage and having offspring are not the only goals in life, it is to be happy and liberating. How could they be happy when their happiness is suffocating them due to other people’s and society’s expectations? I’m glad that gensuke had a firm and optimistic mindset so it balanced out the grim and pessimistic thought sougorou had, I bet he did not think of it too much since he is an airhead (it’s okay, he is cuter this way) but the fact he overthought it? It shows how much pressure their family members put on them. I wish the society would loosen up and expect new cultures to come in. They’re not bothering nobody and they just want to live normally acting on the stage along with other people and being treated as equally as any other hetero person. Sigh. I wish the best of luck for them, it must be burdening to think of the upcoming future for the both of them.

it's really complicated. Japan is so immersed in their culture, they are to traditional they stik to that...but times change, we have to evolve (it's all my opinion)
