No, Im probably thinking there's some mist in the cave/labyrinth, and since our MC was strong he wasn't affected but his friend was. If you think about it, the Murder Clan also used candles to control people, so the materials used to make the candle could have probably came from that cave, and is affecting out brown hair cinnamon roll.

Not control people, I meant hallucinations haha. The cave was probably rigged with someone that has a controlling ability. Also, this isn't a spoiler, this is just my guess.
