so Ive been seeing a lot about this story on Twitter and was wondering what order I should consume the media in, because I know there’s this, the og book, and like an animated version (I think) so like what’s the best order to see them in? I started the book but it’s really confusing (I’m on about chapter 15), so should I try a different iteration first?

The novel constantly goes back and forth between past and present so it could be confusing. What I did ws consume all the visual versions first (like anime, manga, live-action in that order) and then read the novel at the last. It helped with all the visualisation and understanding of the scene (like what was supposed to happen and how the scene takes place) but since the live acriotn is the only 'complete' version out of all , how about u watch the untamed and then read the novel

I'm a fan of MDZS and my advice is that you should start off with the Drama Adaptation called The Untamed. After that, it would be a LOT easier reading the book and honestly, it's very very worth it. After those two, you can freely enjoy reading the manhua and the donghua without any misunderstandings!

I suggest you to start with the drama cz is really clean, and then go to the novel to see what was censored on drama (๑•ㅂ•)و✧

I started watching the anime first and although it's short it's more confusing (to me) than the live action. I didn't know there was a novel but I saw watch the anime first because its short. If you want to watch the drama go ahead (its really good) the drama has 50 episodes though and each one is 40 minutes long. The manga which I just got caught up on is also a bit confusing but you get a better understanding about certain events.

Okay. I wanted to check out the novel and it's definitely more romantic but I know that if I tried to read it, it would be hella confusing. I only read the spicy parts and boy... they are gold

I actually recommend watch anime first, the first season start almost exactly the same the novel, then manhua, THEN live action and last novel because it will help more. For me I actually read the manhua first then novel in my language because it easier ╮( ̄▽ ̄)╭

I have started with the anime and was really really confusing, then I gone to the manhua but it wasn't complete. Just after watching the drama I could understand the history and read the novel (≧∀≦)

hi! Personally, i think reading the novel first would allow the adaptations to make sense lol. Initially, I read the novel while keeping up with the manhua and figured finishing the novel actually gives more understanding with the characters (and just looking up pics for the Untamed and the donghua for visualization hehe). The anime also skipped/changed some parts because of limited episodes and the timeline for The Untamed does not follow the novel (among other things). So for me: novel first and then choose whatever adaptations next ( ̄▽ ̄*)ゞ
