It'll get awesooomeee ε=ε=(ノ≧∇≦)ノ many tables will turn, and big changes will happen (like, straight-outta-movie ones). I think you should keep on going until the beginning of the second season to decide again if you want to drop it or not, but this is just my recommendation. You should do what makes you more comfortable >u< (but again, the fluff and the lovey-dovey scenes will come with full force)
