Y'all just drop it. None of you are obligated to read a story you don't like, you're having a bad experience and making the people who like the story also have a bad experience! You're fucking it up for everyone! So do yourself and everyone else a favor and leave, it's not that hard, there are thousands of other mangas on this website that will please you so go read those, leave this story alone, it's not gonna miss you.

People like having something to complain about. What I don't understand is why they don't realize that a story doesn't have to please them, there are so many stories with characters that are everything that they want.
If I don't like chocolate then I won't keep eating it expecting it to taste like something else everytime ┑( ̄Д ̄)┍ it's so fucking stupid.

I feel like some of those comments are just honest reviews,,, because thats what the comment section is for? Although yes some of them are kind of like 'why did u even read it'

I'm honestly intrigued and interested by how people will interpret a story and how they actually try to put themselves in the character's place and try to gather their experience, so I have nothing against reviews of the story, I find it insightful.
But when the comments are only attacks to a character, or people saying that they're forcing themselves to be patient because they're not enjoying the story anymore, I just don't understand that mindset. The most annoying part of it to me is actually how repetitive those remarks are, it's been 8 years since this story has been getting published, maybe more, I'm not sure, and the characters have always been like that, it's obvious that it is a dynamic that the artist plans to follow. And honestly the reviews show to me a lack of information and understanding of the story and more just general preference, I haven't seen any comment that is actually taking into consideration the characters' personalities, their development, the time frame of the story or anything that is of actual importance or is relevant to their behaviour. Not only that but I think that most comments, not only on this story, but on most stories recently have been based off of a culture of pointing out things that are wrong and toxic, aka cancel culture, but people don't realize that you can't "cancel" a fictional character. And it is especially frustrating when they'll point out so many flaws about a story like this, that is meant to show growth and personal development, but will justify and romanticize a character/story like Painter of the night that clearly is trying to portray an abusive environment and relationship, which automatically shows a big discrepancy and basically just pure hypocrisy.

My problem isn't with the critique, it is mostly with how empty and bottomless the arguments are because they clearly show a lack of knowledge about the story and its characters and shows a repetitiveness that points to actual public influence instead of a personal opinion and interpretation. So if people are gonna openly choose to be ignorant and blind to the author's intent and narrative then why waste their time reading the story in the first place?

That all being said, I'm not attacking anyone personally, my disagreement with one's opinion has nothing to do with my opinion of them as a person.

yeah I get it, but people keep on reading it so its going to be repetative. Just like positive comments.. Also ig thats just how it works, we all like judging stuff as much as the next person

I think that I have a right to complain on a current state of the manga - I've been reading this manga since its release (I even own all physical copies of it), it was super interesting, characters were (and still are) awasome - story used to progress, but now we are going circles. That's what annoys me, I still love this manga, I just want to see something new, becouse there are still things I'd love to see, like Morinaga's encounter with his family for example

Yeah but notice the difference between your critique and the other ones, yours has a basys of you wanting to see the development in the story.
I have no problem with people disliking this manga the thing that made me create this topic in the first place is people saying that they don't even want to read it anymore because they're so disappointed etc, then I think that in that case the person should just stop reading, yours is a different case tho, you have a valid complaint and insight and you enjoy the characters, it's only natural to wanna see the narrative develop I agree with your observation in fact, I also think that the story has maybe been going around in circles, and I wanna see Morinaga visit his family as well, but I do think that it willl happen.
Anyway the nature of your complaint is way different than the nature of the others and that is exactly my point.
