I remember a movie like that story... It was a really good story. It was about two adolescents, 17 years old or so. One of them was persuaded that he met an alien when he was like nine or so years old and the other one was a self-destructive male prostitute.
And so, it was the story about the two of them and how they became like that.
What really got me though, was that the man who was persuaded to have seen aliens had one particular memory that played and played again in his head. Every time that memory was shown, some details would change, getting closer and closer to the truth.
Until the end, when in that exact memory, it wasn't an alien hand that touched his cheek but a human one...
In fact, he was raped by his sport teacher one day and to protect his mind, his brain just distorted the reality to make it acceptable.
On the other one, the male prostitute -the other victim of the same man- did remember everything. It was harder on him as he was groomed for years and was used as a bait to lure the second kid in. Of course, when he grew up, the teacher just shooed him away and after that, he was digging deeper and deeper in self destruction and self depreciation.
The final scene of the movie was one of the most vibrant I saw on screen. You just see the two adolescents, sitting next to each other on a sofa. They don't talk, don't look at each other. The male prostitute is just waiting for the other one to stop crying.
And bam, credits. A really good movie.

If I remember correctly, it's "Mysterious Skin" by Greg Arraki. Greg Arraki is a indie director who is part of the queer movement. He made a whole bunch of movies on homosexuality and society but you will definitely not be able to find them all.
Mysterious Skin is one of his most famous works and is really good. Don't hesitate to look a little bit into his filmography cause he really knows how to bring stories to life. You will not be disappointed.
the story telling on the last one..was so refreshing but the meaning behind is just..horrifying poor child :( damnn morning feels
