When we are taking the plot into consideration I have few ideas as to what is going on.
1. I think they both maybe possibly possessed by a captivating force of the mirror that absorbs and reflects the inner feelings of the person exposed. For example Jun felt at the time like he would do anything for yeon not to leave him. So the mirror allowed Jun to kill the parents with yeon. Because it was his true inner feelings of hate. So the mirror swallowed that side of him leaving the empty "good" jun in it's place. While I think yeon is trapped in there because he was actually is more innocent and a good kid and the mirror replaced him with the empty host of the mirror. The reason I say that is because the tapping he heard while having sex could be yeon the good side trapped in there trying to go back into his own body because he wants to protect Jun from himself.
2. it could be all mental illness, for example all the voices that Jun experienced could become form of mental disorder turned up my the pressures that yeon and the house have over him since it is the place of a crime scene. It could be that the mirror is not actually doing much to Jun but just a scary link to the past of what he did.
3. Or it could be that the mirror is a portal were once you go in it takes some sorta contract to stay alive. Like for example. Yeon sacrificed his soul and body for a duration so that what Jun would forget the incident and that yeon helped cover up. Only the mirror holds yeon true self and the truth of Jun.
4. It could lastly some form of demon contract but I doubt this would be a option. Because no dark magik symbols have made themselves known. If it was a demon I think that it would be the scenario that yeon lineage is demonic and that the mirror is passed down and that Jun just simply fell for a demon that was not really wanting to harm Jun instead wanted to own him because he is obsessed. And all those reflections are really yeon watching over him keeping Jun in the limbo keeping him dependent on yeon for protection and love.
