Talking to her parents will solve nothing (they never listen to her and treat her terribly with no love whatsoever)...though I feel like rather than talking she should have literally demanded not to get married. I mean if she just did fuck all, the families couldn't possibly still say she's fit for the role. And what could they possibly do to her if she started spreading rumors that their engagement broke off? Kill her? Seems kinda anti-productive. And Soleil's family insists he has to marry her because apparently they invested a lot of money into her school/books, but I still don't understand how she's the "only one fit" to marry into their family because there are so many people with higher ranks than her...
BUT at the very very end of the novel she does give up on the fiance and find new love. I feel like the novel hasn't ended yet tho so it isn't fully resolved.
Waiting for her to give up her love and change she should just find another man and talk to her parents about the engagement she need to have some happiness too
