I don't get why uploading it later makes a difference, the author is still losing money :/

Common if you're worried about her then don't fuckin upload as soon as the original upload

They are losing money regardless, you're right. But the reson they lose more in this case is because of the basic marketing tactic . If something entices you, you want it now. The price isn't high, so more people will be likely to buy it. If it's free immediately, there's no point for people to even visit Lezhin (the loss based on conversion).
It's also discouraging for the author, seeing their work uploaded few hours later. It might piss them off more than later uploads, simply because of it being more disrespectful to the author.
I come here for the discussion after each chapter on Friday, it's a shame Lezhin doesn't have the comments section to support fan discussions.

Because if people see it uploaded here they’ll just read it without looking into using free coins to support the author. It does make a difference
