fyi toga's quirk awakened when she saw a beaten bird and drank its blood. but when she showed her parents they were disgusted and decided to raise her "normally" to basically turn away from the nature of her quirk. this is why we see toga as a villain so hung up on living life how she wants and constantly questioning why people have to butt in with that. because she was raised to be conserved in order to deny the "ugliness" of her quirk it caused her to snap and become who she is now. if her parents weren't so close-minded and instead helped her develop her quirk with fair, she wouldnt have turned into the "sick fuck that she is"

momma may have tried her best but for the WRONG reasons. she didn't see her child, she saw a kid who was straying away from her own principles and morals. she saw someone who she wanted to control in order to match the standards of society. god it's disgusting to even think about.
and clearly the "cheerful" toga was all a facade. it wasn't who she REALLY was. toga took her parents' words to heart since she was very young. for a kid to feel hurt about her being called abnormal is a serious thing. she lived a life believing her true personality wasn't acceptable and that she just had to blend in with society. that is was the RIGHT WAY TO LIVE.
