Gregor is a bastard but he is nowhere near as cruel and sadistic as Lawrence . He gets his malice from his mother.

His mother mooches of the King and Marquess estate. Whereas, Lawrence mooches off his sister's inheritance and estate and is reliant on his mother's favor from the King. It's great the scene when the Butler tries to input that Lawrence is the master of the house and he gets schooled by Cedric that it is actually Tia.
Even his rise to power is completely reliant on the talents of his sister.
Since he is 100% reliant on the work and property of others (i.e his sister's estate and genius and his mother's seduction of the King. Lawrence is the biggest parasite of all. He knows this, and that is why he killed his wife. He hated that people preferred her over him and that she was the saintess.
