I’ve had friends marry when they were 16, mainly husbands were turning or were 20. One of the girls I know has 2children. I know the age gap is larger in this manga, like yes he did have sexual thoughts but he never acted on it, and if you truly love a person/if it was your first love and you’ll wait like how he did and it was with consent and wasn’t forced, I personally don’t have issues with it because that’s someone else’s life not mine, I can’t make choices for them. I wouldn’t marry someone 8-10 older, but I know those who do but that’s their opinion I have no say in that.
Honestly it doesn't bother me since not only was the girl going to be a legal adult in a year but honestly they were too embarrassed to barely hold hands??? Its a very pure relationship and the guy was completely thrown off by her age at first but she accepted him with him having to wait, which he did. Now she's an adult amd they haven't even had their first kiss yet, still a very pure relationship.
Honestly though i think this age gap isnt that big a deal, i mean some people still marry with age gaps like that today 8-10 yr difference. But i know most people's problem is that she was in highschool. Personally thats where things can get sticky since we can presume she was 17 when he asked, borderline adulthood. Well as a 17 year old who watched their friend get married at 18, I'm cool with it. There was no I'll intentions and i think we can all agree if there was I'll intentions there wouldn't be so many people defending it
