I /know/ imma get a lot of flack for this but it really boils down to is a lot of writers, especially in the male dominated shonen genre, just don't know how to write women. Like if you look/think back to any shonen series you've read/know of, more than likely there's gonna be a lot of hate for any female lead, but a lot of interest in a lady
that had a minor appearance in the series. Why is that? Cause the author had to spend more than 5 minutes on the female lead and now we can tell they've never talked to a women for more than 30 minutes irl vs the 2 second cameo lady they had and we project the rest of her personality...so we end up liking her more!
Obviously it doesn't apply to all authors but it's come to a point that I'll look at how some women in a series act and be like...sorry sweetie I diagnose u with written by a dude cringe smh

Good gracious, a girl can't breathe in the mangas you guys read- it turns it into trash.
When it happens so often its a 'you' problem, not a 'her' problem
