Honestly I had to come write this in the middle of reading it... I am so mad at the author. Why couldn't she let naruse win against hakamada... like the final time they play against eachother and naruse loses? Somehow the fact that the love rival always beats the main guy pisses me off especially because I hate how he thinks he has the right to just be all over Yuki all the damn time and Yuki is never clear with him and so naruse is just left to be the mature one who deals with being ignored and with Yuki prioritizing everything over him. Like she is so considerate so everyone except her boyfriend. She will literally throw him aside for others and this pisses me off so much. I'm sure they get closer as the story continues but I'm really struggling to like Yuki. Why can she literally never have a proper conversation with him. She never says what she feels and when he gets mad or insecure she can never handle it cause all she thinks about is herself. Its under the guise of thinking about naruse but I have yet to feel like she has prioritized him over any other person in her life. They've dated for a year but she can barely bring herself to hold his hand let alone kiss him... I just feel like all the emotional build up about supporting him and being there for him while he's playing is totally rendered meaningless when HE FUCKING LOSES EVERY TIME.
Why has it been a year and she can still barely hold a fucking conversation with him

But don't get me wrong I adore naruse what a damn gem... which is another reason I don't understand Yuki's attitude APPRECIATE WHAT YOUVE GOT BITCH it shouldn't take jealousy for her to give him the attention he needs

Hey! I know you haven’t finished yet but the way I see it is that both naruse and yuki are stubborn people and the manga will show how they grow. You will see later on that naruse was really jealous and clingy in the beginning but as time goes on he will deal with his relationship with hakmada and become more mature and wont be as “all over her”. Yuki too she was really bad at expressing her feelings especially bc she is the eldest in a large family, but through her relationship with naruse she learns how to be more expressive and grows as a person! She does appreciate him, dont worry ^^ Also with the last game where naruse looses I don’t think this manga is about winning. I see him losing as a way for his character to develop because naruse always thought basketball was a thing he does and hasnt fully realized yet how important basketball is and how serious he is with it. When he loses, it like the push for him to think “wow i really do love basketball and want to get better” so its all character development! I think as the story moves on to their college years you will definitely see their growth!

Hmmm you're not wrong but I personally like to see their growth pay off so him winning is kinda essential to feeling fulfillment from the conflict... I get your point but it took like 75 chapter for them to start communicating like real people... just real people not people who have been dating for over a year... the relationship is so infantile because Yuki is so emotionally infantile. I've finished it and I do appreciate that yuki finally told hakamada that she wasn't interested but she still can barely communicate with naruse so he's still always jealous because she is the worst at expressing how she feels. I kept reading cause naruse is such a gem. I'm tolerating Yuki but I hate hakamada with a passion.
