It's so good! You should def. read. Not only is the storyline one where it makes you stand on your toes and all you want to do is root for the couple, it's also just so realistic.
Ofc wholesome, cute yaois are nice where the uke is perfectly innocent and sweet or the seme is the the perfect boyfriend but reality is we're all just human and humans are a very flawed species. It's just one of those few mangas were the author makes the uke have an unlikeable, realistic personality (at least in the beginning) but somehow you end up loving him.
It's kind of crazy how much the uke is like me. The fact that the author had the traits down to a T makes me feel better because that has to mean there are other people like me too and that we can change for the better. The author did so well portraying things realistically . Things really do be like this. Misunderstandings, toxicity.
Like me, he's extremely toxic, prideful, and has a bad inferiority complex. Instead of being happy for other people's success, he feels envy. He says hurtful things he doesn't even mean when he's angry because he holds his feelings in. He's very fake. He'll talk shit about people he call "friends" in his head while smiling at them because he can't just be honest and tell them no. So he accepts everything with a smile while getting angry silently. All while having feelings of extreme guilt. It's exactly like me. Even the self hate and the idea that no one likes him is so accurate it's kind of scary. This type of personality stemmed even in a similar way as the uke. Just feeling ignored while growing up and being judged. So accurate. Wow. Made me cry in he beginning when they were fighting because it was as if someone was saying it to me.
