He was dead drunk! The guy who is kinda hostile with him is being flirty with the person everyone knows he likes! Daichi even told him before "I like Yamashita" just to get on his nerves. I'm not saying he did right, of course outing someone like that is not okay, but it's unfair to just attack Shimada.
