Yep, well she thought about getting the more expensive items, too. But she didn't do it coz she wanted Jinyao to think "she's different from other girls." and if she's the one constantly being taken to gatherings like that, people would inevitable think that "she's Jinyao's girlfriend."
Which now led her to fabricate the story of her being Jinyao's girlfriend when Doggy came in. And that little story got blown up because Yuhan (the short hair) posted something about Jinyao and Qian "dating".
Too bad for her, Jinyao had that investigated and found out that the instigator of the gossip was Qian, and the target is him. After that party though, when his secretary showed him Qian's bill for the luxury items she picked, he said "there's no need to contact her anymore".
She kinda felt used, blaming Jinyao for helping her, making her "see" what it's like to be on the top of the food chain, and that she got drunk on that experience and wanted more of it.. <( ; ᯅ ; )ﾉ
Turns out she is the college girl who’s “stalking” Jinyao. She was foreshadowed in the earlier chapters, when we saw Mumu for the first time (yes, I re-read everything not because I don’t have anything to do, but..oh well. Hehe)

Jinyao is well aware that she is a gold digger, but at that time needed someone who he can use as a “shield” during parties to avoid marriage proposals. He gets a partner when attending parties, she gets expensive shit.

Kinda stupid of her not to get the pricier items, tbh. Men like Jinyao is aware that girls like her will flock to him, so her plans had already been foiled right from the start. She could’ve taken advantage of it anyways and get the most expensive ones since money is of no object to Jinyao if it means he can avoid getting into a loveless marriage, at least for the meantime. But she is deluded to think that Jinyao will fall in love with her.
