The poison is called “god binding chains” and the person that just showed up to Chang Li is associated with the heavenly realm so I’m guessing the MC (sorry I forgot his name) knew that the person who flashed past him was either a god or associated with a god and got the poison for them to help Chang Li,, but this is just my theory
