I read a spoiler a while back that kinda explains something about why he was like that. Not to say that was ok for him, cause holy hell was that effed uuuuuup.

I think it overall comes down to most fans knowing that tia deserves better than the Prince. Personally, I shipped her with Carsein. The guy literally went blind to save her life.
Whereas, the prince only resented her due to his own insecurities and the fact she had the love of her parents. Yeah the duke (who's character makes no sense) was "drugging" and whispering shit about Tia to him but still the seeds of resentment was there even before the Duke intervened.
I think the only redeemable trait I see from the prince so far is lack of interest in JiHoe who is worse than the Prince in my opinion (I dont get why so many people try rationalise her behavior?) she seduced the FL husband in the first timeline and still thought they could be "besties" displayed zero empathy towards Tia in both timelines and used Tia do all her duties in the 1st TL and then got salty/bitter because after Tia was executed she had to do her own work and got exposed for the incompetent Empress she was.

The development between them is just so fast and convenient that it comes off as completely unreasonable, especially since the author never did the hard work of unpacking her trauma from her previous life.
From what I read, their romance went from FL being determined to avoid her past fate to her suddenly being in love with him again, and literally zero development in between. All ML did was not be shitty towards her in this life—talk about low standards.
It makes me so annoyed because I honestly really liked how this began.
Reminds me why I love remarried empress. Even in that narrative shitshoe and RATsha are saints compared to the prick prince here and his lazy two faced JiHOE bitch.
The prince had no justification for anything he did to her. It would of been better if he divorced her and let her go freely to live her life but instead he humiliated her by demoting her status and making her do all the hard work to cover for his JiHoE moron who was incompetent as an empress. And abuse and humiliate Tia at every given turn.
The miscarriage scene was hard to read, especially since the prince caused it.
He doesnt deserve a happy ending let alone one with the MC.
He deserves karma and hard justice.
