They're not even adults since they died while still wearing school uniform (they were 18, it's an adult age but when they're still in school i think they haven't gone through adult environment yet (like job, etc)

I find this pretty good actually. I think the twins' characters are pretty consistent with adults who go back to being children then experience 5 years of abuse. Since they already have awareness of being abandoned and scorned for their birth, they would normally mistrust everyone and hate the people who abandoned them. If they were normal 5-year olds, they would forget what happened during those 5 years after a couple of months.
Also, I get why the imperial family would shield them by not telling them everything. They're kids. Lastly, they get swayed by every little thing because they only feel animosity with the imperial family and they would immediately warm up to other people who are kind to them and don't (appear to) scorn them for their birth.
There's so much room for character development and the plot is pretty interesting.
P.S: I was reading the novel and every chapter there breaks my heart into tiny little pieces. ╥﹏╥
