Her whole patriarchal family pisses me of!!!!!!!!

It wasn’t like that at first they did care for her at first and trusted her which was why she was given the culinary job and had a whole kitchen built only for her... they said chef had more power in the household......
There was a reason why they acted that way with her...
First she doesn’t live in the main house so the brothers and grandfather did not know she was abused. They thought she just threw tantrums for attention
Second they didn’t abuse her it was the maids and stepmom and they hid it from the other family members.
Third because she was bullied by the step mom she believed the others where evil as well so she threw tantrums and never accepted them the reason why the grandfather and two brothers didn’t like was because when she threw tantrum she was violent to others and herself. And they trusted her with a huge responsibility but she kept making mistakes, they said the responsibility that the grandfather entrusted to her would have been very important and given her a lot of power but she betrayed their trust in her at the same time she didn’t accept them as family members... they didn’t know why she kept acting out when they did they felt guilty and tried to make it up and protected her even more.....
Example the blue haired brother was physically and emotionally hurt by her on his 13th bday: she threw a teacup at his head and it shattered I guess he was trying to make friends with her but she pushed him away by hurting him which scarred him emotionally so he never tried to get close to her again. And because she was always violent with other she was moved out of the main house

Throwing a teacup at my head would definitely make me not like a person, i can definitely see why the blue haired boy likes her food he still doesn't really like her. I think proof her older brother liked her was that he would have easily pet her but how he reacted shows in the passed she reacted negatively to it , likely reacting harshly to the sudden contact. The grandfather started treating her better when she clarified she was depressed and abused by the step mom and when she began to use her wit.

Totally not JUST because of she is happier and can cook but more like in their eyes she is maturing and becoming more responsible. If you speed read it, it can really come off as they were neglecful, as you are more prone to look over details!

I think the only bad thing that the grandpa and brothers did was not send someone to investigate why she is behaving like that but I guess it pretty normal.,.

I mean how many parent nowadays sends someone to investigate why their kids act a certain way......... they don’t usually, it’s either that’s just their personality or they are going through puberty or a phase so that’s probably why they never even thought she would be bullied because who would dare to bully a child in their family

I am someone who suffers mental illness and I come from a family that can't handle mental health issues at all. And it didn't help that my own family demanded to be their ideal Chinese son that can make them proud... I left that toxic family to save myself. That is why I feel strongly against the family.
I ve re-read chapter 1, 2, 11 and 12 and I do not have any sympathy for the whole family! They didn't suffer like the OGHost and her biological mother. They only care for her as long she is useful and bring honor/prestige to the clan. They starting to like/respect her after the younger sister suddenly does not display anymore mental health issues, shows strenght and brings beneficial results. The grandfather and blond brother cleary sees her as a tool! The blue haired brother gets interested in her because of her cooking skills.
They gave her love because she fullills or exceeds their expectations.
They failed the OGHost and now they pay attenton to the MC!
The MC is the one who has win their affections to protect herself.

It’s not just because she could cook better and is happier...
Before she was violent, not social, and didn’t stand up for herself, or sis anything to earn their respect...
The reason why they respect and care for her now was because she finally let them in, earning their trust and opening up to them.
How could they respect and care fore her when she didn’t let them..... when they tired she was violent towards them... it wasn’t because she was useful to them... it was because she is now being mature responsible and finally taking care of herself...
To them (I’m not saying she is) she was acting like a brat so they treated her as such since they didn’t know about the abuse.
It’s shown when the brother tried to pat her head but held back which shows she had rejected their affections before.
It’s hard to like someone when they don’t trust you or is violent with you(which is because she was abuses but again they don’t know that) just because she family they don’t have to like her. Many brother and sisters ignore each other or don’t get along but if they found out that they were getting bullied the other would step in which was like in this case when they found out she was being bullied they stepped in...
You can’t expect them to like her if she didn’t have any like able traits. it’s like you can’t be friends with everyone in the world there will be people you dislike and they didn’t trash talk her or abused her they just didn’t talk to her. If someone who was violent , threw tantrums, and not social I would try to avoid them as well.
We read the story from either her perspective or the overall perspective but not theirs
I’m not saying it was her fault but it’s not their fault as well they could have done better so could she... there were things they could have done to prevent it there were also things she could have done....

They also tried to win her attention before but she was the one who pushed them away not her fault (it’s the stepmother)

They failed to protect her and they didn't care for her enough to communicate with her properly or even investigate.
They all still look down on her despite knowing the abuses (Ch11+12) until she useful enough to be truly recognized.
So once the OGHost with her mental issues was gone and the new host/MC started to function and succeed in name of the family, they ve become more curious and interested in her to the point where they developed affection for her...

I do agree to some of your points. Some of your counter arguments do make sense to this messy family situation.

Fact is that the MC who took over the OGHost is the one who solved most of the problems and who unintentionally get their family love.
Her open friendly attitude may have helped open doors to the heart of the males but without her cooking skills and being acting cute they wouldn't have given her a time of their day.

The OGHost has been always in a disadvantaged position since birth not knowing how to handle any situations. Didn't her issues already started before the arrival of her stepmother?
You can also understand why there readers would rather side with the OGHost and resent the male family members for initially seeing her just as a brat and tool.
Her Maid is the one who truly stood by her.

In the raws they started to get more empathetic and protective after seeing her bruises while she is unconcious.
But where the hell where their care for the OGHost after her suicide attemps?

It is debatable if they actually tried to get her affection before in the past.

I think they were aware of how the stepmother treated her seeing as they said they were tired of the stepmother’s antics. Also, they never tried to reach out to her knowing of her depression. And maybe it’s because they are from a time where they can’t necessarily read a person’s body language but flinching obviously means that she’s scared of something. Also her violence issues where mostly about harming herself. I just don’t understand why you would see someone actively trying to kill themselves and instead of getting help, you label her as gloomy and a ego-maniac. Now their excuse “she has sparkles in her eyes now” It pisses me off that they will probably never feel what their negligence did to that girl.

I think the antics they were tired of was her and her family trying to take their power and money I think by embezzlement
