Yeah but... by your logic hasn't she always beem ignoring what her brother ans sisters says till now?
Yeah, she didn't have a out of age ceremony. But we see a lot of engagements happening before it on those settings. Also. Has she really not have one? By what I know on those settings you would only be able to attend a ball before the ceremony being accompanied by your parents. And theres many variations on the age.
As a daughter of such a powerful household she was supposed to already know manners and how to deal with the rest of nobility by that age. They don't want her to marry asap. They want to prepare her for the future. Your opinion about her parents just affirms how much of a spoiled brat she is.
She is not the duke's heir. She won't live under their wings till her death. She has absolutely no idea of how society works. She as a noble lady didn't learn to work. So, how is she not selfish and stupid?
She only wants to learn what she likes. It's not her brothers ideal of a lady, it's what someone of her status should learn. They even wanted her to socialize so she could choose a husband she loves instead of a political marriage and she desdass refused.
If you are gonna take settings into consideration than take it in full instead of applying your modern ideals that a woman should have the right of marrying whoever and whenever she wants if she wants.

It sint my modern ideals... her brother literaly states she hasnt had a teacher to teach her manners and etiquet.. so by your logic she should have had that, but she hasnt.. thats not on her but on the people raisinng her.. Is she spiled for not knowing better if noone has taken the time to teach her? Is she spoiled for not wanting to do somthing she was never taught she had to? No she is only spoiled if its something she was told and taught she had to do but does not wana do. It has yet to be stated if she Has to marry the second prince.. so fare its just her brother demandig she does it. Is her brothers demands above their parents? I only stated from the facts we have been given so fare. Not from my ideals. I used the fact that they have not given her classes is what they aparently demand she does and how she should act.

You cant expect someone raised one way to sudenly be perfect in something they have not been taught, or to accept a sudden demand they have never been taught is the norm.
She may have been raised "shelterd" but thats not on her, thats on all the people in her life that shelterd her, like her parents, her sisters and even her brother. Why has the brother not had her take manner and etiquet classes if he knows she hasnt had them yet expects her to be perfect in them?.

Yeah... first of all NO. I mean, he did not say she never received classes on manners. Actually by her sister insisting she should have gone to the ball we can infer she was forced to receive at least basic knowledge on it.
What her brother says tho is that "A lady should only learn proper etiquette and manners." Meaning she going to the library all the time and all that she learns are useless to a lady, a noble woman who doesn't need to work and should focus on being a socialite and eventually marrying.
Just the fact you think she is right on doing whatever she wants instead of what's expected of her as a daughter of a ducal house in those settings, dressing up, socializing and eventually marrying, which she has knowledge about since she has her sisters as examples and even calls herself "eccentric" for not doing it is proof you got modern ideals or concepts if you prefer mixed in.
You also just blamed her parents who didn't even appear for her behavior. So, did they just go, oh let's just spoil her after raising well the other 3 or there's nothing we can do to make you act as you should so do whatever you want? Because if they are anything like the brothers they insisted till giving up. Not like a Duke could physically punish his daughter for not being a proper lady.
Besides... she didn't refuse the marriage because she never met the prince, or cuz she doesn't like him, or cuz she already likes someone, or cuz she wants to be single forever, or cuz he's older, or ugly, or she is unbecoming of the position, or she doesn't have the manners, beauty or ability needed BUT BECAUSE the responsibilities of being a princess would clash with her hobbie!!
Are you telling me that that is also her family's fault? She choose to pretend to be mute instead of confronting her family. Why? Because she has no real argument against it besides her will. As if she doesn't know the consequences of refusing the royal family. It was never about her not being a lady proper enough to become a princess, because even if she wasn't she would be taught during the engagement period together with all the knowledge of how to be a proper princess.
And she is plenty stupid. Royal library. She could get access to a royal library! A "bookworm" giving up on that???? You can't convince me for the life of it that anyone would forbid a princess from spending her leisure time reading.
But noone of this matter. Because this dumb spoiled selfish brat will probably meet him without knowing he's the prince, somehow catch his attention with "all that knowledge in her head" even being a mute, fall in love with each other, refusing him for being the prince, being saved from something and ending up marrying him anyway...(╯°Д °)╯╧╧
