i really love the MC and i get that she loves the villainess but i think she’s hurting her more than she realizes, it’s just those moments where she has to accept it bc her father said so or whatever. i might be wrong and this is part of the development but if we get a sad scene where she goes off soon then i predicted it

    It's the denial of agency.

Imagine if the MC was a dude for instance.

But as you have noticed it is still unsettling regardless of gender. There has got to be a better way for the MC to become close to Claire...Like maybe actually try to be her friend or something instead of her stalker??

Oh, I was thinking about it too. Isn't that something you usually see in an abusive relationship?

There's an important plot reason for this. It's not out of creepy intentions.

All the more reason for the MC to legitimately befriend Claire. Good intentions don't erase harm.

This is a comedy, I know we are supposed to laugh at it, doesn't make the actions less dehumanizing though.

isn't it like the whole plot, the author uses this as a plot device to keep things going. I think it would have been really cool if this chapter was spread out and like the vilainess agreed to the mc being a maid or something cuz it would show progress

That's the thing it's not completely a plot device. Obviously, mc enjoys being close to Claire but there's another more important which would be a slight spoil so unless you ask i won't say.

she does try to befriend her. I understand what you're talking about but I think you're being pretty harsh. She hasn't done anything over the line. She likes to tease her but she doesn't touch her. She applied to become her maid and did it through her prev knowledge but she didn't do that for malicious intentions

It is obviously used as a plot device...

And yes I have been asking for the spoilers in multiple posts, some of which you have replied to.

You don't have to touch someone to harm them. How many times do you think you should have to tell someone not to talk to you or approach you before they stop? And now that person that just won't listen when you tell them to leave you alone is in your home and has somehow convinced your father to allow them to be near you all the time. It was an annoyance at school, now you gotta deal with them at home too? Total loss of agency right there.

Have you been reading The Evil Lady's Hero. Rael really want's to be friends with Yunifer and is low key stalkerish about it. But she manages to tow the line pretty well.

I agree with you although I'm wondering when you think that the MC crossed the line. To me everything seemed ok untill this chapter. I don't remember the villainess ever asking or making it clear that she wanted to be left alone before but feel free to correct me if I'm wrong.

It was pretty back and forth between them til the third chapter. But considering the villainess tried to pressure her to leave the school I wouldn't say it's not unclear that she didn't want much to do with the MC.
