"forced" my ass. he's the emperor that conquered the continent. i keep wondering "why in the hell does he keep listening to the whims of whiny old men that probably want him to secretly die off??" can't he just kill them since he KNOWS they have treasonous intent?! (╯°Д °)╯╧╧

yes, he conquered the whole continent, but it doesn't automatically mean that all people think of him as worthy of being the ruler.
I'm pretty sure all of the "whiny old men" have some people behind them and if he decided to just kill all of them, people could start some kind of rebellion; and rebellion causes people to become distrusting.
and while a small part of people start rebellion, a lot of people from other lands that those that were previously his, could join in.
agreeing with some of those requests is the best way to solve this without spilling too much blood.

dude. he LAUNCHED A WAR on his own self-guided whims in order to "unite the continent" under h-i-s country's rule. how many kingdoms did he topple --through bloody murder & countless deaths (like that princess he forced to commit suicide knowing goddamn well that she had nothing to do with her father attempting to kill him rather than just surrendering their kingdom like he was supposed to). Even the bitchy nobles from his OWN kingdom told him it was stupid to try uniting the continent &--for fuck's sake they tried to have him replaced while he was waging war on other kingdoms!! If that's not treason then WHAT IS?! Every kingdom he's conquered isn't going to suddenly turn on him if he eliminates troublesome people like he did to THEIR previous kings/queens & generaly noble-obstacles (the nobility he had slaughtered in order to take over all those other countries/kingdoms) to his goal to "unite the kingdom."
None of his "new" subjects are gonna complain if he has the whiny old traitors from his own kingdom get assassinated. Acts of treason almost always end in the accused being executed--so why is he suddenly so tolerant towards nobles that originated from his own kingdom?? that bias attitude is bullcrap. (╯°Д °)╯╧╧
