Thank you for caring for ppl's wellbeing on here. I personally do get triggered by events in this story bc I know how real they are, but I always take time to remind myself that it's not me this is happening to, I can sympathize and be invested in the characters without taking in all their pain. I hope you take care, too!
This is an incredibly beautiful, but challenging read. Take breaks if you need to. If it triggers you in anyway i.e. rape, forced consent, coercion, abuse (physical and emotional, racism, xenophobia, drug use, sex work, sex trafficking, etc.
There's a lot of beauty in the 'quiet' scenes but also a lot of pain and agnst. I definitely need to dip in and out depending on my emotions at the time.
Some people question whether such trauma is real, unfortunately yes. The world can be really dark and murky. But it also can be really supportive, generous and kind.
Your support network (whether spiritual, fictional characters, online or in person contacts) can be your foundation. But it's YOU that matters. It's YOU who needs to live. It's YOU that deserves to thrive and matters.
Virtual hugs to you
