Do people really get drunk so fast

I'm wondering if people really get drunk that fast or if its just a trope. I feel like its so common in manga for people to drink something and immediately become a slurring, wobbly drunk. I know tolerance is different for everyone but doesn't your body need some time to process the alcohol? I have seen people go from fine to drunk but its usually after more than one and its not immediately. I dont know why I question it so much

I dont how accurate this is but im pretty sure that if you drink an alcoholic drink fast all the alcohol would enter your body at once, and then depending on how strong the drink is and how weak the person is to alcohol, you should or shouldn’t get drunk quickly... if this makes sense

When I drank a full cup of beer at once, I wouldn't say I got insta drunk, but I got really dizzy and lightheaded for a few seconds.

Depends on the person but usually you get a huge rush and feel super dizzy that's it. You don't magically become a drunkard in a 3 second time span

Actually among Asian people some have a gene that makes them intolerant to alcohol. They become drunk instantly. I know it sounds weird that I’m saying it’s specific to them but I’m not making this up you can google it. This is why in east-Asian fictions (mostly Japanese, Korean) there is always at least one character who can’t andle alcohol at all. Whereas in Western countries, when you mention that someone is weak against alcohol, it doesn’t mean something as extreme as passing out instantly, but more feeling drunk after 2-3 glasses.
