They're not talking crap about him for the fact that he is a dog, it's because of his personality. It seems like he's using Kouki and I'm sure a lot of people are feeling very iffy due to the fact that there wasn't super clear consent between the the two. I think it's a bit of a reach to claim that the people not liking the character are dog abusers.
He's self righteous and demanding. It's not that he has dog needs its the human part of it that we would all hate to live with! He needs to know jis place instead of keep demanding even though he is no normal dog!
Dog dude wants to be judged for his human qualities and so we the viewers did just that. His personality is fucking horrible he’s a rapey asshole, of course in the end he’s most likely a scammer anyway as he was so interested in that dang PIN in chapter 1.

All the people talking crap about the dog are the same type of people that ended up burning and cutting him. I’ve seen so many crappy people get a dog (some people multiple times) then thrown them away when they don’t act like the people want them too. I say good for him for standing up for himself
