Yeah I noticed that but I just figured it was either;
A. 'cause he's hibernating so deep sleep might trigger an actual animal form.
B. the artist was just trying to illustrate that he's a bear hibernating even tho he doesn't actually have a bear form.
Kinda like how sometimes artists will draw cat ears and tails or dog ears and tails on human characters when they display personality traits like the animals.
