No I get that but I just thought that their noble arrogant mindset would still have gotten mad to see a maid disrespect their "noble daughter". Like all the other abuse they would happily ignore but drawn a line to disrespect shown in front of them so clearly just for the sake of appearance.
The most annoying thing is that she DID eat with them! Every time the father was home, because the original Penelope wanted to be loved by the Duke, so she also never acted out during family dinners. So she sat at a table in silence with no one even acknowledging she was there and couldn't even eat the food for over 6 years and her father and brothers never noticed! In one of the bad endings, her family locks Penelope in her room and forget about her and she literally starves to death like a rat in a trap! They are pure evil!
Yeah I find it damn ironic that people with their background are supposed to be observant. But then they don’t realize that someone right across them has plates of untouched food and mini silverware. I had LOW expectations already, I thought they see the untouched food and say “oh Penelope you’re not eating, how spoiled.” But no, they didn’t even realize they went even lower than my expectations. Like in comparison, I get asked why I’m not touching my chicken after 10 seconds. The contrast is wack man.

I just find it weird tho cus how could they not have noticed???? They're legit at the same dinner table, I get that Penelope didn't often eat with them but this isn't a case of not knowing just them plain ignoring her so seeing the Duke get mad and firing the maid over righteous anger is just so funny to me.
