Sometimes it’s the sad truth, even sadder, a lot of time fan groups drop them when they get licensed and we end up with “official” but sub par products :(
Yes that is in fact the very sad truth. I will never understand these companies that are being paid to officially license these works, but decide to give the most half-assed translations. It's upsetting especially when you truly want to support the authors work but loathe the fact you're giving money to crappy translated works. That's why many fans have and still do prefer fan translations.
I hear you, there have been many webcomics I’d love to read but hate the official translations and there is no unofficial one, so I just won’t read it.

Agree.. when the fans translation are way much better and had to give up because of the "official" it kinda sad.. doing half ass translation when they got official licensed is not worth to buy...
The fact that it looks way better and is translated better than the officially licensed version. says a lot...
