Lmaooooo this comment is so ironic to me. The way those girls just assume things and villainize whoever based on one side of the story is exactly what a lot of manga readers here do to some characters, people on this website start throwing hell if they just suspect that a character did something or even if they just dislike the character.
Ain't nobody "using their brains", people decide what they like and get attached to that thing and that opinion they created, so when something is done or said that is a threat to that opinion people try very desperately and at any cost to defend what they think is right (even when it's clearly not right), such things happen because people are led by their emotions and not logic most of the time. If their image is threatened by them liking something or someone that is involved in a scandal they will try to defend themselves first and foremost which usually ends up creating a ridiculous double standard where they end up doing exactly what they're saying it's wrong in the first place, in this case they defended someone from a rumor by making up another one.
