Okay so after Yeong and Maru had that final talk, it seems like they kinda just fell out of contact. Later you see Maru as an idol (which I'm assuming it means he took the deal). Yeong and Deoul ended up dating but Maru still has feelings for Yeong. That's all I really got out of it
I thought he was also dating Maru, because he jokes about whether they're even dating since Maru didn't tell Yeong he was coming home -- he told his brother instead.

Correct! But it seems like the brothers are ok with it. Earlier Maru was telling Doeul about them dating, but added that the relationship between Doeul and Yeongwoong could continue and nothing had to change. So he's cool with it.
Oh wow. Okay so like I completely missed it but that's still an interesting ending. But I honestly think that Doeul would be a much better partner than Maru.
