I think he meant that why did the emperor blind him with the promise of seeing the world if he is going to do things like this to him. He's not physically blind
Someone below (bluesky?) had a great answer for that, but 'blind' is too literal a translation. Basically he meant that the emperor dazzled him/his eyes with the promise of becoming the MCs wings so that they can 'fly together for a thousand years.'
In the last sentence, did he mean that he got blinded by the ML or smt?
