    How?

    It is? Can you explain?

I'm sorry but in what way?

At almost each chapters, I can see some sexism, whether it’s subtle or not, so making a list would be too long (⊙…⊙ )
But for example, the fact that mc is shamed by the entire school for being pregnant without being married. With rumours saying the pregnancy is from a one night stand, which furthers the slut shaming.
Here the definition of slut-shaming : « the practice of criticizing people, especially women and girls, who are perceived to violate expectations of behavior and appearance regarding issues related to sexuality. »
When it happens in fiction, it’s not necessarily sexist if it is portrayed as a negative behaviour. But here it’s not exactly the case : even before the scandal, the mc thinks that the idea « teacher who is pregnant from a one night stand = enethical » is true. The unfairness of this treatment is not tackled

Oh ok, I get what your saying, thanks for pointing that out! Although I don’t think it’s the author themselves they are most likely going off of what is common in that area and culture when a female experiences pregnancy out of wedlock, and how they are treated. Which is completely different to how a male would be treated if he got a female pregnant. That idea is sexist but the author is basing it off of what is common. I know I’m wordy, sorry!

I do hope that the unfairness when it comes to pregnancy out of wedlock will somehow be addressed and handled in updates to come.

I understand the cultural reasons behind too, this is why I don’t blame the author. I believe everyone has some internalized sexism because of the way we are raised, even in western countries. It still a bit sad that we are blind to it.

I think it's supposed to be like that, it's addressing the sexism that women face. It's supposed to make you mad; "Why does her being pregnant make her a slut? Why does everyone care so much?" etc. I don't think it's trying to enforce gender norms and normalize sexism. At most, it just plays into the fantasy of having a handsome, rich, perfect man sweeping an average woman off her feet.

I agree. I think the author only wants to let the readers know the cultural norms, this also happens to a teacher I know, she got pregnant without getting married first and got fired from her job

I don’t really agree, yes the webtoon shows the sexism but doesn’t address it. It’s the readers themselves who can feel mad and then make conclusions about how problematic is the society - but the mc sees the rumour as a natural consequence of her actions. When she tells the ML that he shouldn’t have stepped in, he says that she shouldn’t have let the situation get out of hands then. Like what ??? It’s her fault if the rumor has spread now ? And she apologized as if it was the case ┗( T﹏T )┛I was ashtonished

There is something else too (and you can consider it as another example of sexism) : the ML can be nice on one hand right, but he is really bossy on the other. He pushes on her for the mariage, decides a lot of things in her stead / doesn’t let her time to decide (like 3 seconds). It can be okay when she is fine with it or when it’s for small things, but for marriage ??? Like no. I am not saying I hate him bcz it’s not the case and it is not my point : what I want to say is if the role were reversed, the girl would be seen as a rude / pushy / desperate person, and called a bitch by every reader. I know that because some fictions are like that. Basically, this fiction portrays bossy behaviours as cute (and it’s not because this is a common trope that we should be fine about it)

Sorry for the rant he he ٩(๑❛ᴗ❛๑)۶

For this comment- I believe a lot (not all) of girls who use this website have some sort of internalized misogyny. When you look in the comments it’s common to see ppl shit on FL because they think they could do better than them for the ML. There’s probably way more examples but I can’t think about it in this moment lol.

omfg, i totally agree. I was reading this one webtoon called "bunny and her boys" and the readers were totally bashing the FL because they really thought that if they were the female lead, they would do better, like??? Please consider miss FL's situation first before you bash her???

I had a problem with him planning the wedding too but I try to give the benefit of doubt to him since it does affect him more in terms of his schedules and him not wanting to place stress on his pregnant fiance. Hopefully she gets to decide her dresses and stuff when she feels like it.

About the not addressing the issue with her pregnancy and slutshaming at school, I think the author is just being realistic and the resolution comes with us as reader. The author probably is angry with the situation too and hence use it as a source of conflict. The resolution and solution though(in a sense) comes with us as we got out in society voicing support and normalising pregnancy our of wedlock.

I dont know where you live but actually, if stuff like this happens at school, most likely the teachers will be kicked out of school. Female teachers I mean. It is so disgusting for me to see but there is nothing that could be done since they are seen as people who uphold standards and be a role model for students. Other times, they had to be married not even engaged to legitimize their pregnancy. Sure it was irresponsible to get pregnant without a plan but I think that ruining their lives ..slutshaming them isn't right either. They are human. As long as they bear a child and demand responsibility or contribution from the father, they deserve respect for raising the child alone. Plus, even if they get pregnant, none of anyone's damned business anyways. Student shouldn't know too much about teachers and teachers should keep their mouth shuts on other's coworkers business.
