Marie doesnt want to be known either though? It would cause more trouble if Marie was known even more than she was before. It's completely understandable that Rachel would lie to make a more favourable impression. She wants to save her family, theres nothing wrong with her being a bit manipulative, she hasnt even done anything that bad and in those days you HAD to be that way to survive. I think Rachel is alright, she reminds me of the FL from The Villainess' Hourglass, willing to be manipulative for her own gain and everyone is fine with her.
Both candidates are bad. The daughter of the duke(?)/ dark hair one is at least a jerk outside. She is evil but I think she's really just a spoiled brat. That blond one though. I didn't trust her at all because she is sketchy from the very start. She is manipulating and doing things for her own advantage. I know, she wants to save her family but she is definitely willing to stab peoples back if she has to. I hope Marie falls in love with the prince and they will find out that she is a Princess. Marie is really naive though, it's probably gonna take a lot of time... :/
