Isn't that literally in the summary that people are afraid of her because EVERYTHING about her is dark, that in itself is already messed up. And suddenly the problem is better cause she starts lightening up. ???
I'm just honestly not surprised anymore when I see this stuff in anime and manga cause it chalks up to being ignorant of other cultures since they live in a smaller bubble (⌒▽⌒)
Wasn't blaming anyone but if you make a dark/black character with big pink lips or put them in colorist situation without thinking "maybe I should do a tiny bit of research", then that's all on them-
