Maybe good fortune because it said the empire entered the golden age and it was all due to a sacrifice of one person... so maybe the diamond eyes had the power to bring fortune to the kingdom... not sure tho
The author really knows how to make you feel bad and sad about the jeweled eyes. Each one of their lifes were terrible.
