right??? i was totally cheering for the original couple, like 98% of the time im loyal to the first couple because i think 'oh there's really only ONE couple and one guy that is just there for plot-' but NO this was fantastic.
it truly is just another way of seeing that the first person isn't always the best for you. you can give everything and its not always your fault. Khaol doesn't deserve River, after River CONTINUALLY put him first. Khaol's form of 'stepping up and defending him' was laughable at best.
I can't believe I love river and heil SO MUCH. i don't think you understand im OBSESSED. talk about an upgrade? river tried to fix someone who didn't want fixing. im just glad he ended up with someone who was willing to give as much as love as he was. and they're so??? cute?? ugh i love them
LITERALLY. like i really wanted to give khaol a chance to redeem himself because i was so convinced they would be endgame anyway so at least he should get some character development BUT NO?? and i was so goddamn overjoyed when heil and river became a thing.

but I must say- i did not see river becoming a god AT ALL. i literally thought that Khaol had some plan in mind? i thought he was like going to stab / attack the goddess of the earth in order to protect river, but he straight up DIDN'T. DID NOT SEE THAT COMING. impressive, really impressive for a BL tbh.
EXACTLYYY I THOUGHT THIS BITCH WAS GOING TO SAVE RIVER IN SOME WAY and then realise how important river really is to him. BUT NO nothing happened, honestly it was a surprise but a good one. it felt refreshing that the shitty previous ml didn't just intervene like they always do and then some time later realise the true worth of mc.
and same i was done when he said their relationship shouldn't happen, that's way too selfish of him. LIKE YOU CAN TELL HE'S JEALOUS but only bc river doesn't pay him any attention like he used to before
i binged this in a day AND YOU DON'T UNDERSTAND HOW HAPPY I AM WITH HEIL X RIVER.. I NEVER THOUGHT IT WOULD HAPPEN BC SECOND LEADS NEVER WIN BUT YESSS after all river's been through only heil deserves him. im also a big sucker for heil. i won't deny that i do feel a bit sorry for khaol but mostly bc of how miserable he looks
