Ngl the aftermath of Charlotte's "death" is quiet tragic. It shows how important she was to her disciples and how her disappearance left them in shambles. All of them had great potential; one being the emperor, one was an elf and the gurdian of the forest, one was the master of a guild, while not much is revealed bout the last 2 disciples.
The goodbye she thought they'd accept without questioning drove them to the edge, leaving the children she raised broken. The emperor (Calsilion) was hell-bent on finding that he didn't care about the was that could take place between Claus and Marveil. Yurian destroyed the forest (she was guarding) in order to absorb magic, and eventually casting a spell to turn back time and bring back her master, which resulted in her memory loss. Dan lost his last place of comfort, eventually suffering from insomnia and losing stability to the point where his subordinates were forced to 'kidnap' people so that their leader could sleep properly. Though much isn't known about her last to disciples, the whereabouts of her 4th desciple is unknown (and rumoured to be dead). While Ivan (the youngest of them all) is out of control, he's believed to have colluded with the 'calamity' in order to find his master; whom he believed he'll find at all cost (to the point he stole that Valcan's heart [I'm sorry if I'm wrong with the name]).
Other than that I'm sure that Jeffery would also break if she hadn't come to him in the first place. Since we all know he loves her (and wants to protect her at all cost). He'd definitely be broken if he knew that she'd decided to 'die' and didn't even tell him, leaving him alone.
All in all, Charlotte was (and still is) well-respected among the people of both the empires (Claus and Marveil) thus not only was her 'death' unexpected to the people that held her dear to their but also for the people who truly respected her for the contribution to the world.
I want her to reveal herself to her disciples since I personally feel like it's for the best. They didn't deserve such a goodbye, at least not through a mere letter. She was an important figure to all of them to the point that her last goodbye left them empty.
